The between, between my knuckles – Leaky Bodies, Leaking Data examines the alienation that emerges when intimate bodily experiences are converted into data points. The work interrogates FemTech as a system of digital technologies that promise empowerment while continuously extracting and commodifying menstrual health data. What leaks from the body is treated as a problem to be monitored and managed across every phase of life. Six hundred cubes of screen-printing fabric translate cycle data into a haptic, three-dimensional form. Each cube stands for one day, each label for a measurement, each gap for what was not recorded. Drawing on Sarah Ahmed's method of Queer Use, the project uses nonverbal vocalizations to give the depiction and perception of cycles an expanded dimension of representation, making audible what resists quantification.
