Is there still life? is an 18-minute short film about the transience of everyday touch. Documentary and fragmentary in style, it follows an 82-year-old woman in her domestic environment. The camera lingers on seemingly incidental gestures: cutting roses, cleaning chandelier prisms, interacting with fruit or a smartphone. Long, still-life-like shots create moments of slowness. Two voices, young and old, reflect on touch, closeness, and shifting perceptions, accompanied by quiet everyday sounds. Repeated reflections and magnifications form abstract image spaces in which skin and surface merge. The film moves between documentary observation and composition. It asks about the future of physical closeness in an increasingly dematerialized world.
